The SAIT Abrasivi SAITDISC C-X 180 mm is a silicon carbide abrasive fiber disc for marble, granite and building materials, made in Italy and supplied in Lebanon by Rousse. It fits 7″ (18 cm) angle grinders with a 22 mm centre hole and a backing pad.

Silicon carbide fiber sanding disc with high abrasive power, made for marble, granite and building materials. Long life and an excellent finish. The convex profile stays stable through climate changes and gives a larger working surface. The 180 mm stone disc has a depressed (convex) profile.

• Always mount fibre discs on the matching SAITPAD backing pad with its locking nut.
• Store flat in the original pack at 15–25 °C and 45–75 % relative humidity so the discs stay flat.
• On special order: round bore with 4 slots, and semi-depressed centre (BS) discs for 180 mm.

Safety

Always mount the disc on a suitable backing pad, check that the grinder speed does not exceed the speed marked on the disc, and wear eye, hand and hearing protection.

Silicon carbide is the right grain for stone: it is sharper and more friable than aluminium oxide, so it keeps cutting on hard, brittle materials like marble and granite.

Which grits do I need for stone?
Work in steps: start coarse (24–36) to shape, move to 60–120 to smooth, then 220–400 before polishing.

What is a fiber disc called in Lebanon?
In Lebanon and the Arab region, fiber discs are usually called wara2 saroukh (ورق صاروخ), wara2 jalkh (ورق جلخ), disc jalekh or s7oun jalekh (صحون جلخ), and sometimes wara2 sanfara (ورق صنفرة). For this disc, ask for wara2 saroukh lal balat (ورق صاروخ للبلاط).
