S900 – S-900 ELASTOTET Neutral Silicone

ELASTOTET S-900 is a neutral-cure silicone made in Greece and supplied in Lebanon by Rousse. It bonds without primer to almost every building material, porous and non-porous, including concrete, mortar and stone, does not shrink, has a low odour, does not corrode metals, and is anti-bacterial and mould resistant, so it also suits bathrooms and kitchens.

Available in clear and white (300 ml) and in black, brown, light grey RAL 7035, medium grey RAL 7045 and beige RAL 1015 (280 ml) to match frames, stone and grout.

Where to use it

• Windows, curtain walls, aluminium and PVC frames
• Concrete, stone, marble and mortar joints
• Metals such as zinc, copper and galvanised steel
• Bathrooms and kitchens (mould resistant)
• Swimming pools (transparent S-900 only, with primer on concrete)

How to apply

1. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, grease and old sealant.
2. Cut the cartridge above the thread, screw on the nozzle and cut it at an angle to the joint width.
3. Apply in one continuous bead and tool with a wet spatula or finger within the skin time.
4. Silicone cures from the surface inward at about 2–3 mm in the first 24 hours; do not fill joints deeper than 2 cm in one go.
5. Silicone cannot be painted.

FAQ

Why choose a neutral silicone?
Neutral silicone has almost no smell, does not attack metals, mirrors or stone, and bonds to porous, alkaline materials like concrete and mortar where acetoxy silicone may not.

Which colour should I choose?
Pick the colour of the frame or grout: white or clear for sanitary joints, grey or beige for stone and concrete, black or brown for frames.

Acetoxy or neutral silicone?
Acetoxy silicones (S-100, S-400, S-200) cure fast and smell of vinegar; they are ideal on glass, aluminium and glazed ceramics. Neutral silicone (S-900) has almost no smell, does not corrode metals and bonds better to concrete, stone, mortar and porous surfaces.

Is silicone harmful once it has cured?
Fresh acetoxy silicone can irritate skin and eyes. Once it has cured, usually within about 24 hours, it is considered harmless.

Which silicone for a swimming pool or permanent water contact?
Because of chlorine, Elastotet recommends only transparent S-900 neutral silicone for pools. Porous surfaces such as concrete need a primer.

السيليكون مع أسيد وهو طري ممكن يهيّج الجلد والعيون. بعد ما ينشف، عادةً خلال 24 ساعة، بيعتبر غير مضرّ.

أي سيليكون للبيسين أو للمي الدائمة؟
بسبب الكلور، ELASTOTET بتنصح بس بسيليكون S-900 الشفاف للبيسين. السطوح المسامية متل الباطون بدها برايمر.
