Additional information

ELASTOTET high-temperature sealants for heat and fire: made in Greece and supplied in Lebanon by Rousse.

FIRESEAL-W: thixotropic sealant that withstands up to +1200 °C, for joints in fireplaces, chimneys, stoves and ovens. Bonds to brick, concrete, metal and stone, even on damp surfaces, and can be painted.
S-HI TEMP: acetoxy silicone that stays elastic at up to +270 °C continuously (+300 °C short term), resists oil, water and antifreeze. Ideal as a formed-in-place gasket for engines, valve covers, exhaust and ventilation pipes. Black 280 ml, or red 80 ml gasket tube.

How to apply

FIRESEAL-W: apply above +10 °C on dust-free surfaces (damp is fine). Let it dry 24–48 hours, then heat up slowly to avoid bubbles. Not for expansion joints.
S-HI TEMP: apply on clean, dry, oil-free surfaces in joints 3–40 mm wide and tool immediately. Avoid contact with eyes.

FAQ

FIRESEAL-W or S-HI TEMP?
FIRESEAL-W is for masonry and metal joints in fireplaces, chimneys and ovens up to 1200 °C; it is rigid once dry. S-HI TEMP is an elastic silicone for gaskets and joints that move, up to about 270–300 °C.

Can I use normal silicone around a fireplace?
No. Standard silicones are rated to around 120–180 °C. Use FIRESEAL-W for the fireplace and chimney joints.

What do people call it in Lebanon?
Usually silicone 7arare, ma3joun sobia (stove sealant) or silicone motor; in Arabic سيليكون حراري.
